Martin formed his first band while still in school, but they were reportedly so bad at their first concert that they were booed off the stage. While attending University College London, Martin met his future Coldplay bandmates, though they originally called themselves Pectoralz, then Starfish. Their first album, Parachutes, launched the band into fame. Eight other albums and EPs followed, all of which have been successful. In addition, Martin has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, and Jay-Z. He's also appeared in a handful of films and television shows, including Shaun of the Dead, Extras, and Bruno. In 2005, he was named the World's Sexiest Vegetarian. He met actress Gwyneth Paltrow while touring for ColdplayÕs second album in 2002. They married the following year and have two children, Apple and Moses.
